Feministing take on ‘Saving the World’s Women’

Feministing (and other bloggers) took on the NYTimes article I posted about last week, and there's some good things to think about if you haven't seen it yet. Among the chief complaint was the article's lack of discussion on changing the attitudes of men, and while I agree that it's important, most of the time what mobilizes change is action on the part of the women, something microfinance has helped do. After all, if it weren't for women like Gloria Steinem, Margaret Sanger and Starhawk working on the behalf of women and religious minorities, would the rest of the world even know there was a problem in the first place?

Clay's article is here.

He sounds like a cool kid who's finding some frustration with dating. The people at the site have been pretty grounded and helpful, but if you have anything constructive to add, I'm sure they'd love to read your words.
