Women’s History Month : Merit-Ptah

Merit-Ptah, born in Egypt in 2700 BCE, was an early physician. Known as one of the first women accepted openly into the fields of science and medicine, she was a doctor known as "Chief Physician", which is what her son had carved into her tomb. Her final resting place, a family crypt, is near the pyramid of Saqqara.
